How Important are those we know and those we love? Robert is a stark reminder of how we forget the simple things in life. "For tomorrow is not promised." Just a few weeks ago I told Marialee, an 18 yr old tribal member to listen to the message in the wind. She laughed at me and said I was cheesy. I'n fact she has called me cheesy quite often. It's the aire of attitude in our young that bespeaks of a culture of disrespect. Once we could listen, "not the same as hear" to the sounds of the wind for the answer we sought finding comfort, to difficult problems in our hearts. "metaphor" We shared our problems, solved them with our families and friends with or without tears. We grew in spirit as a people. Today, not even the blare or roar of a geat beast shakes us from the slumber of dispair as we resign to forfeit the most precious gift given. Life! It has been said; we have become a Nation of idiots submerged in drunkeness. That our childern have no leadership for they fail to listen. That one day in the very near future, we will cease to exist, and be scattered like dust on that very wind, simply because we did not listen. Tomorrow will you stop to listen?
