Ida K. Schilling - a resident of Pendleton, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at the home of her son in Kennewick, Washington. She was 85 years old. A Memorial Service will be conducted Monday, April 26, 2010 at 4:00 PM in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Pendleton, Oregon. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Olney Cemetery, Pendleton. Contributions in her memory may be directed to the Watchtower Society, and may be sent care of the Burns Mortuary of Pendleton, P.O. Box 489, Pendleton, Oregon 97801. Sign the register book or send condolences at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Schilling was born July 15, 1924 in Miles, Washington. She was the daughter of James M. and Clara McCrea Carroll. She grew up in the Pilot Rock area where her family ranched. She had attended the Byrd School. She married Henry A. Schilling May 24, 1944 in Pendleton. She was a homemaker and had lived in the areas of Joseph, Ukiah, Enterprise, Albee, Pilot Rock and Kennewick. She had lived in Pendleton for 65 years. She was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses Church. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, reading, collecting cans, going for long drives, and teaching kids to color. She was also a musician and enjoyed playing piano, guitar, harmonica, accordion and violin. She is survived by five children; Duane Schilling, Melody Schilling and Melerine Thompson, all of Kennewick, Washington, Phyllis Birky and Irene Graham both of Pendleton, Oregon, two sisters; Virginia Garrison of Pilot Rock, Oregon, and Jean Smith of Echo, Oregon, nine grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two brothers; Jim Carroll and Levi Carroll.

We were sorry to hear that Ida passed away. Please know that we are thinking of you all and send our love and concern. We look forward to the day she hears that call and wakes up to the paradise earth that has been promised. We can see her smile and the twinkle in her eye as she gives us all a big hug.
