Virginia L. "Ginger" Comstock - a resident of Pendleton died Friday, July 8, 2011 at her home. She was 69 years old. Ginger was born August 14, 1941 in Klamath Falls, Oregon. She was the daughter of Clarence and Phyllis Brown Bentley. As a child she moved with her family to the Ordnance Army Depot near Boardman. The family later moved to Pilot Rock in 1953. Ginger graduated from Pilot Rock High School with the class of 1959. She married Bruce Comstock on August 13, 1960 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and the family made their home in Pendleton. She had worked for the Forest Service and as a Home Health caregiver. For many years she and her husband enjoyed summers in Candle, Alaska, working their gold mine and camping. She greatly enjoyed beading and spending time in the outdoors. She especially enjoyed spending time camping with her friends the "Dirty Dozen". She had also enjoyed volunteering her time at the Community Bargain Counter here in Pendleton. Survivors include: her husband Bruce Comstock of Pendleton, two children, Mike Comstock of Pendleton, and Traci Habel of Spanish Fork, Utah, one sister Jean Beebe of Pilot Rock, nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandchild, a great-grandchild, and her parents. A Celebration of Life Pot Luck will be held Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the Community Building at the Emigrant Springs State Park on Cabbage Hill. Donations in her memory may be made to either: the American Cancer Society, or St. Anthony Hospice, and may be sent care of Burns Mortuary of Pendleton, P.O. Box 489, Pendleton, Oregon 97801.
