Charles Lee "Chuck" Bartlett, a resident of Pilot Rock, died Thursday, January 6, 2011 in the St. Anthony Hospital, Pendleton, Oregon. He was 63 years old. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the Burns Mortuary Chapel, Pendleton, Oregon. Interment services will follow in the Pilot Rock Cemetery, Pilot Rock. Viewing will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Monday, January 10, 2011 and will also be in the Burns Mortuary of Pendleton. Memorials in his memory may be directed to the American Diabetes Foundation, and may be sent care of the Burns Mortuary of Pendleton, P.O. Box 489, Pendleton, Oregon 97801. You may sign the online guest book or send condolences at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Bartlett was born November 29, 1947 in La Grande, Oregon. He was the son of James D. and Nina M. Lovan Bartlett. He spent the early years of his life in Elgin, Oregon. When he was 12 years old, the family moved to Pilot Rock. He was a 1966 graduate of Pilot Rock High School. Upon graduating he held various jobs including laborer at Louisiana Pacific until the strike in 1982. He attended Blue Mountain College where he earned his Associates Degree in Arts. He was also employed with the Pendleton School District and Fleetwood Trailers. He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for pottery, hunting, fishing, camping, mushrooming, and sharing his knowledge with his children. He is survived by six children. Cori L Bartlett-Blosser and husband David of Wellsville, Ohio, Deborah M. Bartlett-Curtis and husband Roger of Enterprise, Oregon, Kimberly D. Bartlett-Miller, and Jennifer E. Bartlett, both of Pendleton, James D. Bartlett and Mica Jo Bartlett James of Pilot Rock. Sisters, Betty R. Polson and Beverly J. Kennedy and husband Richard of Pendleton, 23 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren a many nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, and older brother, James W. Bartlett, a sister-in-law, Marjorie Bartlett and a Brother-in-law, Lawrence Poulson.
