For over 80 years, Burns Mortuary of Pendleton has been known for the quality of service, the comfort of our facilities and the kindness of our funeral professionals. T. B. Bomboy was born in Pennsylvania and he had owned a funeral home in Cutbank, Montana. In 1925 he purchased the Brown Funeral Home on Thompson Street in Pendleton. He then later built the Bomboy Funeral Home where the funeral home is located today. Mr. Bomboy sold the funeral home in 1949 to Charles and Alerita Burns, where it got its name “Burns Mortuary of Pendleton”. Charles Burns ran the funeral home for 57 years with his wife Alerita. In 2006 Charles Burns decided it was time to retire and sold the business to Brian and Beverly LaFollette. The LaFollette’s feel strongly about continuing those traditions by maintaining those high standards of excellence in service to those families and communities they serve in Umatilla County.
