Dear Arleta and family..I was so saddened to read of Carl's passing today...YOu two were married longer than some people even live ...I still remember the day you two married and you came to see me and you were so happy and excited..You and Carl have been through so  much together and have achieved so much and you raised a family to be proud of ...I have thought of you so many times over the years and remember fondly our school times together...I send you and your family my love and sympathy dear one...Patricia Hansen Ahern

To the great family of Chief Sampson & Arleta.  We loved being able to see both of you at sporting events as you followed Tyson and Dylan.  Your respect for all people was easily visible through your warmth and friendliness toward all.  Our prayers are with your family.

My son and I worked in pea harvest with Carl one season a few decades ago. Carl was a man that got things done and had fun besides. He would be eager to get something done and with my rural southern Missouri accent I would say something on the order of "Hold your tater" until we figure out how to do this. That amused Carl and from then on I was "Hold your tater" and my son was "Little tater". It amused all three of us. I am sorry for your loss. Carl was a delightful, wonderful man. It was a pleasure and very special for us to get to spend that summer working with him.
