Very sad to hear the news. Charlene was a big supporter of Amateur Radio in the  northwest, and I am glad to have called her a friend.

We will miss hearing Charlene "Grandma" on the air.  We always enjoyed talking with her and the world was blessed with her kindness.  I still have the bracelet she made me about 20 years ago.

I remember she was a friend to new and old hams and an inspiration to YL's and XYL's.

So sorry for your loss, Uncle Walt.  I really enjoyed all the pictures of the animals  and the pictures of  you on  the mountain that Charlene took and posted.  Loved reading her emails and getting updates on you.  She was a sweet lady and I know you will miss her greatly.
Love ya, your niece, Vicki and all her family, Larry, Keith, Josie, Dena, Molly, Annette, and Hilary, and their families.

Charlene, Grandma Chipmunk.  you will be missed by all.  You were a mother, and grand mother to many.  Even many who were not related.  Your kindness to humans and birds and animals alike.  Thank you for being a part of our lives and our sons life.  May God Bless and be with you and your family. Until we meet again.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Walt and Charlene's family. We will miss listening to you on the NET, will miss your giggle every time you gave your call sign and the "Really Quiet Female" to phonetically announce your sign. May you always look over us crazy hams and smile when we do you proud!

I will always have fond memories of Charlene. We have had many  conversations over the years - I will always remember her as the Feisty Mountain Woman of Mecham who loved to laugh and had a big heart. Rest in Peace Charlene and pray for healing for Walt and family during this time of loss.

Walt I am truly sorry for your loss of Charlene, I din't know she had passed, we have been thinking about you guys for a while, if there is anything we can do for you please let us know. I loved Charlene she was one of the happiest people I have ever known, met her while I was shopping at Bi-Mart at Pendleton when I first moved there in 1991 I think, she asked me a question and we started a wonderful friendship then she married you and we had some great times in your old cabin. I am going to miss her sending you our love,
Roxanne and Don Jenkins
