Dear Jim and family Please accept my personal condolences and sincere sympathy to you and your family at this time of great loss. I do so as a personal friend and colleague of Leta's but also as the Director for Security Operations in Eastern Washington for TSA. On behalf of the many personnel of our Agency serving here in Eastern Washington, I extend our heartfelt sympathy for your tragic loss. I humbly acknowledge the unselfish service Leta gave to so many of her co-workers and to the traveling public. She was a valued friend to all who knew her. We will always remember her special smile and the twinkle in her eyes as she enthusiastically carried out her job so professionally. As we all try to better understand God's role and purpose's in our own lives may we remember all the good and generous things that Leta accomplished in her life. May you and your family fine peace and comfort at this time of special need. Most sincerely, Reed L. Roberts Federal Security Director - TSA

The tragic news of Leta's passing reached me in England and I mourn for our loss. Leta was a dear person who was always smiling, easy-going and lovely to work with. We all mourn along with her extended family and large group of friends but as a co-worker, she can never be replaced. May you experience the peace that passeth all understanding and feel our strength and love across the miles. Stay strong and God bless you all.

It pains me to know that I will not be able to share a laugh with Leta any longer. She was one of my best friends when I came on board with TSA. I will never forget her and I "tormenting" our assigned law enforcement officers by pulling practical jokes on them. From "chick magnets" to placing a home made wind up key on the back of a GEO metro, together, we were the Bonnie and Clyde of TSA at the Pendleton Airport. Rest in peace Leta...and Ride Free knowing you have touched so many lives.

My heart goes out to all of you during this most difficult time. Working out of the Spokane TSA offices, I didn’t have the opportunity to work with Leta on a daily basis, but when I did, it seemed that we’d always end up talking about her Harley, and discuss the show, ‘Sons of Anarchy’. Whenever work was involved, she was always on top of her game, and always the professional. What I admired most about Leta however, is that she was real - what you saw is what you got! no games She will be missed………. You are all in my prayers,

Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow. Dearest Jim and family, please accept my deepest condolences at the tragic loss of Leta. She loved you all from the bottom of her heart to the deepest dept of her soul. She was a sparkle of light in all our lives. A friend and inspiration to all who knew her. She will be sorely missed. A truer friend I couldn't have and I loved her. If tears could build a stairway, And memories a lane, I'd walk right up to Heaven And bring you home again. ~Author Unknown Goodbye my dear friend I will hold you in my heart and memory forever.

On behalf of myself and the Walla Walla Regional Airport, our deepest sympathy. Leta was a great person and good friend. I will always remember her and her passion for the purple motorcycle she would park in the lot. All of us here at the airport will miss her, as we did when she transfered to Pasco. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the family and friends.

I got to meet Leta through TSA. I was assigned to train her when she first was hired. She was always so professional and had a spunk that lit up the room. I always loved that there was nothing Leta couldn't do. This loss is beyond words and it is still unbelievable. The only consolation is that she was doing what she loved with who she loved! My condolences to her family and her large network of friends.

I was one of the lucky ones who worked with Leta at Walla Walla and Pasco at times. I feel that I've not only lost a great coworker who would always handle her part of the job professionally but have lost a friend who shared her stories of her grandchildren and bike rides with me when I did get to work with her. Such a cheerful, nice young lady to work with. Always kind and helpful to the young and elderly passengers at the TSA screening area while she worked at the Pendleton Airport. I will never forget how happy and excited Leta was when she purchased her new Harley-Davidson and how much she and her husband enjoyed riding together. Such a tragic loss. My sincere condolences to all of Leta's family members.

I am also a fellow QOTR member and met Leta 2 years ago when my husband and I were making a tour of the western/northwestern part of this country on our motorcycles. When passing thru her area she met us for breakfast. Her husband couldn't make it because of work so we didn't have the pleasure of meeting him. After breakfast we continued on our trip and she rode with us for about an hour or so. We continued to keep in touch since then by phone and internet. I am so sorry for what Leta's family is going thru. Know that she was known and loved by so many. I will never forget her and have tied a purple ribbon on my bike that will stay there in honor of her so she will always be with me when I ride. My prayers go out for her family and friends.

I was a TSA manager in Eastern Washington and worked with Leta at Walla Walla and Pendleton, OR. We shared the same passion for riding. We bored others when we whipped out our cell phones to share pictures of our bikes. But we certainly enjoyed the pics and the feeling of freedom on a beautiful riding day. When I learned of Leta's passing, I rode. I will miss your smile. I will smile thinking of you as I continue riding! My condolences to Leta's loved ones and TSA EWD.

I knew Leta from WBTB. She welcomed me with open arms to a world that was new to me and scary. Leta gave support and guidance to us all that was genuine and caring. But, she was not afraid to let you know when you needed to move on. She was not afraid to let me know when I needed to "wake up" or "move on". Leta showed me that you could follow your dreams or passion no matter where you were in life. She made me laugh so many times with her stories and I was in constant awe of her pictures always of the moon. I know you are up there Miss Leta. Looking down on all of us from your moon. RIP my sister and thank you.

I have sat here typing and then erasing, and then typing again....I can't even put the words together to express the amount of love and respect that I had for Leta. She was always our mama bird on WBTB. My heart is broken, broken for her family, friends and everyone who was blessed to know her. Leta loved her husband, kids and grandkids so much. You could just feel that love when she would post a picture on facebook. Leta, you will be missed SO much, but never, EVER forgotten! My condolences go out to the family. Rest in peace Leta, we all love you!

Our hearts go out to Jim and his family. I had the pleasure of meeting Leta during TSA operations. When we met, Leta realized I worked with Jim and we'd trade law enforcement stories about him in the field. She was a bright, beautiful soul and the world is a better place for having her grace it. Rest in peace Sister...

My heart goes out to Dana and her family in this very difficult time. There are not words to describe such a tragic situation or the grief you all are feeling. My prayers and thoughts are with you as you begin the very difficult journey of life without a woman who, though I never met, seems to have been loved dearly. Reading through her obituary it seems she led a very fulfilling life and held positions of servitude and integrity. Always hold her in your hearts and let the memory of the wonderful times you had with her keep you going when the loss seems too much to bear.
