When Uncle Ralph visited Steger, Illinois, one summer half a dozen years ago with his son and grandson, it was as if we got to talk to him every day of his life, as if he had never moved West. What a wonderful man for conversation and stories!

Dear Cousins, I am very saddened by the loss of your Dad, one of the few remaining older generation of our family. Although I met him just a few times over the years, our letter writing relationship was a wonderful way to stay connected. His warmth and humor was evident in the way he wrote. My Mom, Leona, and he also had a special connection from childhood that was kept alive by letters. The obituary you placed shows the great history he had and showed your love and care for a fine man. Please accept my deep sympathy on his death. Best regards, Colleen

Dear Cousins, We were saddened to hear of Uncle Ralph's death. Whenever he visited, we enjoyed his stories of growing up in Steger and the antics he and his brother Bob did to tease their sisters. Last summer we had the opportunity to see the ranch in Colorado where Ralph spent some of his early working days. It was as big and beautiful as he had described it many times. Our sympathy is with all of you. Ben and Valerie Milazzo

I will miss the talks we had over the backyard fence. Every winter when I would say "I'm tired of being cold he would say "Oh this isn't cold, when we lived in Montana...." It was always fun to see what kind of weird lawn mower he was riding around on. And I will miss the sound of him working in his shop, & the smell of his pipe. I will miss Shortte very much. My prayers to his family.

Dear Ones, Shortee has been a part of my life for a long time. I loved him and I love each of you. I wish I could have been with you during this time but that was not to be. Just know that you are all in my prayers. I will miss him just as I miss each of you. Take care of each other and live well. I love you all. Aunt Lana
