Announcement:

Donald W. Vescio, 80, of Pendleton died Saturday, January 14, 2017. He was born on December 14, 1936 in Fulton, NY. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Thursday, January 19th at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Pendleton. Recitation of the rosary will begin prior to the mass at 9:30am. Burns Mortuary is coordinating funeral arrangements.

Obituary:

 

Donald Ward Vescio, 80, died on Saturday, January 14, 2017. He was born on December 14, 1936 in Fulton, New York to Phillip and Carmella Vescio. After graduating in 1954 from G. Ray Bodley High School, he entered Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Pure Science.  A gifted athlete, he served as captain of his college baseball team.

 

Don married his wife, Ann, in 1960, and together they had four children. He worked in the field of engineering for forty years in New York, Indiana, and Missouri before retiring and moving to Pendleton to be near family. Don was a parishioner at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

 

Don is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Carmen and Andrew, and triplet infant grandsons, Dante, Tyrus, and Daniel. He is survived by his wife, Ann; sons Donald (Elaine) of Grafton, MA, Mike (Ann) of Pendleton, and Mark (Ana) of Woodstock, GA; his daughter Joanne of Buffalo, NY; and grandchildren Maggie, Michael, Katie, Gabriella, Chloe, Stefano, and Maria-Camilla. 

 

A funeral mass will be celebrated by the Reverend Mike Fitzpatrick at 10:00am on Thursday, January 19th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Pendleton. Recitation of the rosary will begin prior to the mass at 9:30am. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Foundation, the American Heart Association, or the American Cancer Society. Burns Mortuary is coordinating funeral arrangements.
