Forest E. Kannard

September 7, 1950 – August 13, 2016

Forest Eldon Kannard, a longtime resident of Pendleton passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016, in Kennewick, Washington, surrounded by his family.  He was 65 years old.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 27, 2016, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #28, 428 S. Main Street, Pendleton, OR 97801.  A private graveside service will be held at a later date.  Contributions in memory of Forest Kannard may be made to the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #28 in Pendleton.  Sign the online condolence book at www.burnsmortuary.com.  Burns Mortuary of Pendleton handled arrangements.

Mr. Kannard was born September 7, 1950, in Pendleton, Oregon, where he was raised and attended school.  After high school he was drafted by the Army and served in the Vietnam War.  He served with A/2/11 Artillery in the 101st Airborne Division near DMZ in the Republic of Vietnam.  Once he returned home he held many different jobs as he was a true jack of all trades.  In his most recent years he worked as a residential contractor.

Forest knew everyone and he definitely couldn’t go anywhere without stopping and chatting with someone.  He made several friendships over the years that lasted throughout his lifetime.  He was such a fun loving, always up for a good time, kind of guy.  He enjoyed every moment he spent with his two daughters, whether it be boating, traveling, going to the mountains or watching their activities.  At the end of a long day he enjoyed catching up with buddies and having a round or two!  Raise your glass to Forest…for a life well-lived!

Forest is survived by his two daughters Haley Kannard and Ashley Kannard both of Pendleton, his brother Bill Kannard of Stanfield, Oregon, and his niece and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Eldon Boylen and Wes & Jean Kannard.

We all had a great toast to Forest recently with our Bunco group at the Rainbow. He would always chat with us and share pictures of the girls and talk about what they were doing. He truly loved his girls! This we will always remember about the wonderful guy he was. He will be missed. Let the memories of his love carry you through the rough times!
