Robin Jean (Cruz) Blansett

October 18, 1952 – May 12, 2016

Robin Blansett was born on October 18, 1952 in Seattle, Washington.  She lost her battle with cancer and went home to her Heavenly Father on May 12, 2016, surrounded by family, covered in prayers, and listening to some of her favorite scriptures.

Robin was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Jan Cruz.  She leaves behind countless family members and friends, including John Blansett, husband of nearly 29 years; siblings David Cruz (Shirley), Jeanette Godlevsky (Gary), Terry Cruz, and Ralph Cruz; children Delly Wilson, Micah Blansett, Wade Blansett, Josh Blansett Shay Hopkins, Heather Montgomery, and Crystal Claire; as well as 12 grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews.

Robin’s hobbies included sewing, decorating, redecorating, moving furniture from room to room, soaking up the sunshine, shopping, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She attended Cornerstone Church and dedicated her life to blessing others, both through her work with DHS (1994-2010) and Columbia Care (2013-2015), and by opening her home and her heart to over 100 foster children who she and John loved and accepted as their own.

Graveside Inurnment will be held Saturday, May 21, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Olney Cemetery in Pendleton, followed by a service to celebrate Robin’s life at 11:00 a.m. at the Free Methodist Church. John Blansett and family, it saddens my heart to hear of Robin's passing. It seams as though the Lord is calling his people home earlier than we know. Robin was a blessed soul and leaves behind many blessing along with much sorrow in her absence.
I am greatful to have known her and will always be enriched by her everlasting smile, kindness and gratitude.
God bless you and your family in this hour of sadness.
Sincerely;
Sam Ely

Robin was such a fantastic co-worker that I considered a friend. Her smile could turn a rough or depressing day into a great day. She had such great advice and would lend an open ear if we needed someone to talk to. Such a kind and caring woman, gone far too soon but now looks down upon us. Heaven is a much brighter and happier place with her walking the streets of gold. God bless her and her family.

John and Family,
Our hearts go out to you. Although Robin has been released from the pain to be with our Lord, you all are left to carry on. Losing a loved one can really leave a hole in your life, so our prayer for each of you is that that hole will soon be filled with wonderful memories of a woman who loved you more than life itself. Such a big heart made her a wonderful wife, mother, friend c0-worker and neighbor. So many lives are better for having her touched them. Robin will be missed! With love - Larry & Kricket

Dear John and family,

Robin was a beautiful bright shining example of how we should all be living our lives. Her endless love and kindness towards everyone she met was amazing. Loving and caring for all of those foster children as if they were all hers. Smart, funny, and living a Christ centered life bringing joy to all that knew her. We love you John and family, we are so sorry for your loss and praying God brings you peace. How lucky we are to have known her! Lots of love, Chris Maddux and family

I've known Robin since 1972 and she was a real blessing to me especially back then. We didn't really connect in some ways but sometimes God puts a person in your life that you can learn from even though it may be painful at the time. I always had a special place in my heart for her and miss her. I'm very thankful to have had the time to get to know her over the years. Her family is blessed and our hearts go out to her husband and loved ones over her loss.

Robin will be missed by so many. John, you and Robin touched so many hearts and souls over the years I have known you. It has been a privilege and honor to call you my friends. Your open hearts have given so much to so many. May you all be at peace knowing that Robin will be watching over you from the heavens. She will be with you always and you will see her in the smiles of others and feel her in the warmth of the sunshine and the light touch of each and every breeze. The legacy she leaves behind continues to live in each and every life she touched along the way.

John and Family,
I just learned about Robin's passing and is no longer suffering. However, when someone we love so dearly goes home to be with the Lord, we know they're in a better place-- but our sorrow and pain are still great. I'm praying the Lord will hold you especially close and comfort you through the coming days, and that you'll be strengthened by the love of family and friends. With heartfelt sympathy and prayers from a co-worker of Robin's.
With love from,
Irma DeAnda
