Muriel Adell Parker

January 17, 1926 – June 26, 2015

 

Muriel Adell Parker passed away peacefully at her home with her daughters at her bedside, Friday, June 26, 2015.  She was 89 years old. 

A Memorial Celebration will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at 11:00 AM at the Pendleton First United Methodist Church, 352 SE 2nd Street in Pendleton.  With a luncheon to follow in the Fellowship Hall, located in the church basement.  Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church directly, or through Burns Mortuary of Pendleton, PO Box 489, Pendleton, OR 97801.  Sign the online condolence book at www.burnsmortuary.com  Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is handling arrangements.

Adell was born in Park River, North Dakota, January 17, 1926, to Bessie and Fletcher Forster.  Adell graduated from High School in Langdon, North Dakota, and worked at the Ottertail Power Company until the family moved to Heppner, Oregon, in July 1945.  Adell worked at the Court House in Heppner until she met and married William “Willie” Parker May 27th, 1947, and moved to Pendleton.

Adell lived her life helping others.  She especially enjoyed working with the kids at Headstart, reading with the SMART program, and helping with the “angels” class at the United Methodist Church.  She was very active in her church while she was able. 

Adell was preceded in death by her husband Willie, sister Irene, brother Lew, and grandson Kurtis Nash. 

She is survived by her sister Bev from Yakima, WA, her children Bill and his wife Ann of Hood River, OR; Jay and his wife Mary Beth of Medford, NJ; Maydell and her husband Gary Nash of Pendleton; and Doreen and her husband Gary Cannon of Portland, OR; as well as grandchildren Cody, Nick and Rachel Nash, Sarah and Cliff Robinson, Eric and April Parker, and Christopher Parker, and great grandchildren Taelor, Ashlyn, Meisha, Sydney, Riley Hannah, Savannah, and Lucas and step-grandchildren Nate, Nolan, Trevor, Katy and numerous other family.

So sorry for your loss. Adell was such a sweetheart, will always remember her smiles and giggles with the little kiddos at school. She was a joy to be with. So giving, helpful and dedicated to do all those "stairs" twice a day to be with us. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Love, Vickie and Bob
