Howard C. Haynie

July 29, 1955 – May 30, 2015

 

Howard C. Haynie – a longtime Pendleton resident passed away Saturday, May 30th, 2015, at care facility in Kennewick, Washington, following a nine month battle with cancer.  He was 59 years old. 

A Graveside Inurnment Service will be held Thursday, June 4, 2015, at 10:00 AM at Olney Cemetery in Pendleton.  Sign the online condolence book at www.burnsmortuary.com  Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements.

Howard was born July 29, 1955, to Clair “Bryce” and Marcella “Sally” Hayine in Walla Walla, Washington.  He worked for the City of Pendleton Parks Department for 27 years. 

He is survived by son Joshua Aaron Haynie of Pendleton, OR, and daughter Heather Ashley Haynie of Pendleton, OR, brothers Harlan Haynie & wife Sue of Portland, OR, and Doug Haynie & wife Linda of Pilot Rock, OR, and sisters Diane Garton & husband Rick of Pendleton, OR, and Susan Guzik & husband Chris of Minneola, FL, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews, and some very dear friends.

He was preceded in death by parents.

Howard will truly be missed. It was a privilege to work with him. He was always willing to help when asked and he had an artistic eye that allowed him to create iron works that will remain a fixture in Pendleton for a long time.

Words can not express my sorrow for your loss, Howard was one of the finest men I have ever known or ever will know. He will be missed but never forgotten as long as I am still alive, he is now at rest and not in pain.
