Carole L. Carnes

July 18, 1943 – February 6, 2015

 

Carole L. Carnes – a resident of Pilot Rock, Oregon, died Friday, February 6, 2015, at her home.  She was 71 years old.

A Graveside Inurnment Service will be held Saturday, April 4, 2015, at 11:00 AM at the Pilot Rock Cemetery with Potluck Luncheon to follow at the Pilot Rock Community Center.  Contributions in memory of Carole Carnes may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Sign the online condolence book at www.burnsmortuary.com  Burns Mortuary of Pendleton handled arrangements. 

Carole was born July 18, 1943, to Gayle “Bob” and Verna (May) McLean in Pendleton, Oregon.  She graduated from Pendleton High School with the class of 1961.  On September 4, 1965, she married Donald Carnes in Reno, Nevada.  Beginning in 1972, Carole worked for her mother-in-law at her daycare.  In the early 1980’s she went to work at the Pendleton Woolen Mills where she retired in 2006.  She was a member of the Pendleton Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #28, and the FOE Goers.  She loved camping and the outdoors.  Carole and her husband Donald loved to travel.  They would take their RV and travel to Arizona in the winter time.  Together they celebrated 43 years of marriage.  Donald passed away in 2009. 

Carole is survived by her children: Tony & wife Yvonne Carnes of Pendleton, Donald “Bug” Carnes of Pilot Rock, Richard Carnes of Pilot Rock, and Jolene Harrison & husband Bert of Pilot Rock, her brother Neil McLean & wife Vickie of La Grande, grandchildren: Ryan McMasters of Hermiston, Tucker Carnes and Michaela McCarty of Pendleton, Michael Carnes, Brodie Carnes and Shelby Harrison of Pilot Rock and great-grandchildren: Keegin, Joseph, Maddex, Riley, Zachary and Carter. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Carnes, her parents Bob & Verna McLean and a brother, Jerry McLean.

Sorry for your loss. It is always hard losing ones we love. We have to remember they are off in a better place. All my thoughts and prayers go with you.
