George Raymond Siler, 87 died on October 23, 2014 at his home surround by is family.

He was born on July 18, 1927 in Waynoka, Oklahoma to George and Maggie Siler.  He had nine brothers and sisters; Larry, Albert, Jim, Evelyn, Howard, Robert, Thelma, Clifford and Shirley.  He married Bada McKenney.  They had three children; Steve, Janell (King) and Don.  One step son, Larry Lemons of Craig, Alaska.  He has six grandchildren; Gary, Melissa, Jonathan, Tracy, Shannon and Jana and eight great grandchildren.

He worked at numerous jobs, logging, ranching, managed a furniture store and in 1959 started work for O.D.O.T. from which he retired as supervisor at Meacham.  He moved to Pilot Rock in 1988.  He was a member of the Lions Club and was on the Community Hall Board.  He helped build the Senior Housing in Pilot Rock and the Veterans Park.  He really enjoyed the Wednesday pinochle games at the Senior Center.

He is survived by his wife, Bada; children Steven, Janell & Don; stepson Larry; Sister Thelma; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pilot Rock Senior Center at the Umpqua Bank (Sterling Bank) in Pendleton.  At his request there will be no services.

Bada, we are so sorry for your loss.
We always enjoyed visiting with you two and Dar enjoyed working with George at the Highway Division (ODOT). George always seemed to be in a good mood and so easy going. George, you will be missed. Okey dokel my friend, okey dokel.
