Walter John Reiman was born September 19, 1918, in Pendleton, Oregon, to Walter and Olive (Jones) Reiman.  He attended a one-room schoolhouse for children on Birch Creek and Coombs Canyon, and later attended John Murray High School in Pendleton.

Bud joined the U.S. Army on April 13, 1942.  He served overseas in New Guinea and the Southern Philippines, earning the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, the Philippine Liberation Medal with two Bronze Service Stars and the Good Conduct Medal.  He was honorably discharged from the Army at the end of the war in 1945.

He married Virginia Mae Raines on January 17, 1946 in La Grande, Oregon.  Bud worked for the Penland Brothers Moving Company, and at the US Gypsum Mill at Pilot Rock.  He later worked for Shell Oil until he retired at the age of 65.  After retirement he bought and sold cattle and horses.  Bud had a great love of horses and dogs, and he will be deeply missed by family and friends.  He participated in the Pendleton Round-Up activities every year, and received a 25 year belt buckle.  He drove his horse-drawn carriage in both parades, chauffeuring many senators and representatives over the years.   He was a lifelong member of the V.F.W. Let’er Buck Post 922, and a member of the Main Street Cowboys.

He will be deeply missed by his children LaDonna Jean Coulter of Bend, OR, and Bill Reiman of Pendleton, OR, and his sister Beulah Chenney.  He was preceded in death by Virginia his beloved wife of 66 years in 2012.

My heart goes out to your family; your dad & mom were both very good people. A special "sorry" to Bill; I know you took care of both your parents as they aged and you did an awesome job. Your parents as well as you hold a special place in my heart. I am sorry for your loss. Bill, if you need anything you know where I live. GOD Bless, Penny

LaDonna & Bill

I send my condolences on your Dad's passing last week. I'd love to see you both again, but unfortunately I have a prior commitment this Saturday and will be unable to attend Uncle Bud's service. I'll be thinking of you.
