Patrick William Johnson – lifelong Pendleton resident passed away Monday, May 5, 2014, at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, Washington.  He was 33 years old.

Dressing Ceremony will be held Friday, May 9, 2014, at 2:00 PM at the Agency Longhouse, with Washat service to follow at 7:00 PM.  Final Washat will begin Saturday morning, May 10, 2014 at 7:00 AM at Agency Longhouse with burial following at Agency Cemetery.  Sign the online condolence book at www.burnsmortuary.com  Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is handling arrangements. 

Patrick was born January 30, 1981, to Clayton Johnson and Patricia (Hart) Thompson, in Pendleton, Oregon.  He was raised in Thornhollow.  He attended Weston Middle School and graduated from Pendleton High School.  In his youth he learned the traditional ways from his uncle Calvin Shillal who taught him to weave, sweat, do beadwork and his respect for all family members.   Patrick enjoyed weaving, drumming, playing basketball and baseball, fishing, hunting, hiking and spending family time.  He was a lifetime member of the longhouse.  He was a member of the Cayuse Singers and Mission Magicians. 

Patrick is survived by: his mother Patricia Thompson, father Clayton Johnson, children Nakeyha Watchman and Pierce Watchman-Johnson, brothers Steven Hart and Joseph Thompson, sisters: Jessica Thompson, Jennifer Cross, Jacqueline Thompson and J’Shon Thompson as well as numerous nieces and a nephew. 

He was preceded in death by: his step-father Darryl Thompson “Twe-pie-tet”, paternal grandparents Lillian VanPelt and Patrick Levi Thompson, and maternal grandparents Willard Hart and Yvonne Hart.

Patty and family,
Words cannot begin to express how sorry I am to hear about your loss. Patrick was a kind hearted young man who always smiled and said hello to people he came across. He will be missed by so many. I love you very much Patty and am praying for you, the boys and girls and the rest of your family.

Although Patrick and I were not close, I considered him a friend and am really saddened to hear that he has passed. May peace be with him and his whole family. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
