Dorothy Leona White

July 21, 1930 – December 25, 2013

 

Dorothy Leona White – a Pendleton resident passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2013, at a local care facility.  She was 83 years old. 

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2013, at 2:00 PM at the Pendleton Seventh-day Adventist Church.  Private burial will be held.  Sign the online condolence book at www.burnsmortuary.com  Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements. 

 

Dorothy was born July 21, 1930, in Warsaw, Missouri, to Scott and Ida (Stark) England.  She was raised in Missouri until the age of 14, when her family moved to Washington, then to California and Idaho, following the harvest.  She married Hershel White on October 22, 1948, in Toppenish, Washington.  In 1958 the couple moved to Oregon where they made their home.  Dorothy was dedicated to taking care of her family whom she loved dearly.  Her hobbies included sewing and she loved horses. She had also been a member of the Soroptimist Club.  Dorothy was an active member of the Pendleton Seventh-day Adventist Church where she enjoyed volunteering her time for various church functions. She loved her church community very much.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband Hershel White, her son Virgil White, parents Scott England and Ida Brashers, and her brother Alvin.

 

She is survived by her daughter Judy Delph of Weston, OR, brothers: Wayne of Yakima, WA, Eugene of Priest River, ID, and Norman of Yakima, WA; sisters Daisy of Scappoose, OR, and Nadine of Trona, CA, and two grandchildren, Tiffany Delph of Portland, OR, and Casey Delph of Walla Walla, WA, and many friends.
