JAN FRINK LORENZEN

August 4, 1949 – August 14, 2013

          Jan Frink Lorenzen was born in Pendleton on August 4, 1949.  She was the daughter of Robert Willard and Jayne Trombley Frink.  She died on August 14, 2013 in Walla Wallla, Washington, after extended and multiple medical issues the past 18 months.  She was 64 years old.

          Jan graduated from Pendleton High School and attended Oregon State University.  Many of her early-day school years were spent in Athena, Oregon, where the family lived for many years.  She married David Lorenzen in 1974 and were later divorced in 1998.  They were the parents of Rachel Marie and Kristin Diane Lorenzen.

          Jan was a champion mother, who enthusiastically supported and devoted her time to the multiple programs in which her daughters participated.   In addition, she maintained a household 15 miles out of town on a ranch that she loved.  She was a talented seamstress and skilled in intricate handwork.  Later, she worked for a time in the Human Resource Department of the Pendleton Red Lion.

           After grandchildren came along she became a champion grandmother, visiting and loving on them frequently until she was hospitalized in January 2012. Then there were long trips for the boys to go see “Meme”. She always looked forward to seeing them even when she barely had the strength to say “hi”.

She is survived by her mother Jayne Trombley Frink; daughters Rachel Lorenzen Halsey (Caven), and Kristin Lorenzen Blanchet (John).  Grandsons Corbin and Keegan Halsey, John Hunter Blanchet and many cousins.

Service will be held Thursday August 22, 2013, at 3:00 PM at the Olney Cemetery Mausoleum in Pendleton.  There will be a family and friend celebration of life at the Vert Club Room following the ceremony.  A viewing will be available from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, on Thursday, August 22, at Burns Mortuary in Pendleton.  Sign the online condolence book at www.burnsmortuary.com  Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is handling arrangements.

So sorry to hear that Jan had passed away. We had lost contact over the years, but she was a good friend all the years we lived out by the ranch.

I'm so sorry to hear of Jan's passing. Just wanted to say she impacted my life in a very positive way. She was a great gymnastic coach. I'm grateful for her, and grateful for all that she taught me.

Rachel and Kristin;
I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I have some really great memories of her at fair and 4-H events. She was always upbeat and made me laugh. I am sure that she is kibitzing with Doris and they are both laughing. Again my thoughts are with you and your families at this hard time.

I am very sorry to hear about your mother's passing. I just wanted you to know what an energetic and friendly classmate she was when we were both at Pendleton High School. It sounds like she continued being so throughout her life and will be missed greatly.
