Robin Allen Fletcher, Jr.
July 18, 1936 - July 13, 2013

Robin Allen Fletcher, Jr., born in Pendleton, Oregon on July 18, 1936, to Robin Allen Sr. and Ruth Huddleston Fletcher passed away at his home in Pendleton on July 13, 2013 at the age of 76.  Robin lived with his family in Ukiah until his senior year, graduating from Pendleton High School.  While attending Oregon State College (OSU) he participated in college rodeo, ROTC, and played saxophone in the college prep band, graduating in 1960 with a B.S. degree in Agriculture.

On August 13, 1961, he married Mary Lou Kerr who he met while at OSU.  He began his professional career with Federal Land Bank as a farm and ranch land appraiser where he worked for 27 years.  In 1988 Robin joined Whitney Land Company selling farm and ranch real estate until his passing.

Robin loved Happy Canyon and Pendleton Round Up.  For 74 years he volunteered in a variety of roles in the Happy Canyon pageant serving on the Board as Show Director from 1963-1970.  Robin participated as a Pendleton Round Up volunteer for 60 years with a term on the Board of Directors from 1979-1986.  While serving three terms on the Pendleton Round Up and Happy Canyon Hall of Fame Board, he participated in the development of the new Hall of Fame facility.  He was elected to the Umatilla County Fair Board from 1971-1978.  In 1983 Robin was selected for the Oregon Fairs Association Board and in 1988 he was elected as President for two years.  He received the Oregon Fairs Distinguished Service Award in 1994.

Robin thoroughly enjoyed ranching and never failed to involve all his family and their friends in whatever project he had going.  Whether it was rounding up cattle, branding, building fence, or getting wood, a fun time was had by all.  Nothing was more special to Robin than being out in the woods hunting with his family and enjoying the great outdoors.

Robin was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bill Fletcher.  He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Mary Lou Fletcher; sister Dorene Ayars; children Rebeca "Becky" Waggoner and husband Allen, Renee Hailey and husband Clint, and Rachelle "Shelley" Marshall and husband Colby; and nine grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at the Vert Auditorium, Friday, July 19 at 3:00 P.M.  Contributions in memory of Robin Allen Fletcher, Jr. may be made to Pendleton Round Up & Happy Canyon Hall of Fame or in care of Burns Mortuary of Pendleton.  Sign the online condolence book at www.burnsmortuary.com  Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in care of arrangements.

Mary Lou, Becky, Allen and family,
We were was so saddened to hear about Robin. Just a couple of weeks ago I talked with him. He and the boys had been doing the annual wood cutting and gathering and he was his normal jovial self. I always enjoyed seeing and talking with him, there was no way to know it would be the last time. I've always thought that his family was fortunate to have him around to help and support. I didn't know him really well but I do know what kind of a guy he was. May his memories live on.
