Evelyn E. Pulse - a resident of Pendleton passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at her home.

A family Graveside Service will be held at Skyview Memorial Park for Evelyn Edith Pulse who died at the age of 94.  Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Gathering Thursday, May 16th, 2013, at 2:30 PM in the V.F.W. Hall, 1221 SE Court Place in Pendleton.  The family suggests that contributions in memory of Evelyn Pulse be made to St. Anthony Hospice and may be sent directly or in care of Burns Mortuary of Pendleton, PO Box 489, Pendleton, OR 97801.  Send condolences online at www.burnsmortuary.com   Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements. 

She was born on August 10, 1918, to Mark and Madeline Stevens in Walla Walla, Washington, where she was raised and attended schools.  She came to Pendleton, Oregon, in 1934.  Evelyn married George Pulse in 1936 in La Grande, Oregon. 

While her children were growing up, she held offices in the Washington School P.T.A. and taught Sunday School at the First Christian Church. She was also active in the Christian Women’s Fellowship.  She later worked in the Pendleton School Kitchens before retiring.  After her retirement she worked at the Community Bargain Counter and the Umatilla County Historical Society. 

Evelyn is survived by five children: Georgia Pulse, Loretta Stewart, Margaret Bain, Richard Pulse and Edie Allstott, nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren and her sister Helen Mullen.  She was preceded in death by her husband George, her son John and sister, Dorothy.

Evelyn will be greatly missed. We always enjoyed her smile and laughter. Evelyn was a great volunteer for the communtiy both at the bargain counter and at activities at the First Christian Church. Our deepest sympathies to the Pulse family during this time of loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

So sorry for your loss! I went to Wash. School with Margaret and remember Mrs. Pulse being active in school events. Also remember George and his flying!
