Ellen Marie (Rutledge) Grabner was born to Charles Wesley Rutledge and N. Frances Wheeler in Shattuck, Oklahoma on June 20, 1934, and raised in Klamath Falls, Oregon.  She was the eldest of eleven children.  Ellen married Elmer “Red” Becker in 1950 in Klamath Falls, Oregon, and had eight children:  George Becker, Charlene Becker (deceased), Cheryl Becker (Grabner), Jeanine “Susie” Becker (Hanson), Janet Becker (Deasy), Jacqueline Becker (Pew), Bobbi Becker and Richard (Becker) Grabner.  They later divorced.  In January of 1976 she married Rudolf “Rudy” Eldon Grabner in Milton-Freewater, Oregon.  He brought his three children, Keta Grabner (Ozbun), Kevin Grabner, and Katrina Grabner (Coombs) to this union, and in 1977 Rudy adopted the youngest boy, Richard.

Ellen enjoyed being a mother, a great cook and friend to all who met her.  She enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, quilting and beadwork.  She really enjoyed all the babies that were born into the family, whether they were grandkids, great-grandkids, great-great-grandkids or extended family, she loved them all, and they loved her.  The couple have more than seventy-five grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents Charles Rutledge and N. Frances Black, three brothers: Chester, Cecil, and Virgil Wayne Rutledge, one sister, M. Louise (Rutledge) Stickle, and a daughter, Charlene Becker.
