Hailey Ann Davidson, a resident of Pendleton, took the hand of her Lord and went home on Sunday, December 17, 2012 surrounded by her family at Doernbecher Hospital in Portland.  She was 18 years old.

A Celebration of her life will be Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the Free Methodist Church of Pendleton.  Pastor Scott Little will officiate the services.  Memorial contributions in Hailey’s memory may be directed to the Hailey Davidson Medical Fund, and may be made at any U.S. Bank location.  You may send condolences and read the obituary at www.burnsmortuary.com  Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements.

Hailey was born August 12, 1994 in Pendleton.  She was the first daughter born to Monte and Kathleen (Calame) Davidson.  Hailey grew up in Pendleton and attended Pendleton schools.  She was an avid sports enthusiast and had played many sports including soccer, basketball, volleyball and softball.  She loved being part of a team. Hailey’s incredible strength and a strong will to survive defined her.  She dearly loved her husband, family and friends.  Through her faith in God and the love of the community she knew she was not alone in this battle with cancer.  For the last three and a half years Hailey had been fighting a rare form of cancer called Ewing’s Sarcoma.  She had fought a good battle, and beat the disease twice.  She never gave up, and fought hard to the very end.  She will be remembered as happy, fun and full of smiles.  On July 21, 2012, Hailey married Jesse W. Rutherford of Hermiston, and Jesse honored her by taking her last name of Davidson.  On December 7, 2012, Hailey graduated from Pendleton High school surrounded by her fellow classmates and family, in a special graduation ceremony.

Hailey’s family would like to thank the community for their amazing and heart felt support over the past three and a half years during her battle with cancer.  The family would be honored to have all of you join them at the memorial to remember Hailey.

Hailey is survived by Her husband, Jesse Davidson of Stanfield, her parents, Monte and Kathleen Davidson of Pendleton, a younger sister, Jade Davidson, grandparents, Ed and Elaine Calame of Pendleton, Larry and Marjorie Davidson of Hermiston, and Dolores and Gary Adams of Ontario, Oregon, as well as a host of family, friends and teammates.

I am Holly's mother and met Hailey several times at Holly's house during various functions. My grandchildren adored Hailey! She was a blessing to Holly's life and my grandchildren. Always a smile on her face and pleasant no matter how uncomfortable she was.

God bless your family!

It was a privilege to be a small part of Hailey's life in her younger years when I worked at the daycare she attended. I will always remember her beautiful smile and fun-loving spirit. My sympathy and prayers for Hailey's wonderful family and friends.

I feel like it was an honor to know Hailey, she showed so much strength throughout her ordeal. She will be missed by many friends and family. She was a true bright and shining star. I will always remember her when she opened that small box and released those butterflies on her wedding day. We were blessed with her presence for 18 years, but that is not near long enough. RIP dear Hailey. To the family I say, God will help to take your tears away, you will remember her forever. God grant you peace.

Hailey will forever and always be a daughter to David and I and a sister to Gabrielle and Kiana. Hailey has taught us, as parents, to love and embrace every possible moment with our children. As children, Hailey has taught us that determination, strong willpower, and above all, love for God and family will take us far in life as well as with Heaven.

True Love for you Hailey - The Heehn Family

Hailey, you will always be remembered for your beautiful spirit. I have and will miss seeing you kick butt on the soccer field! You played so many years beside our kids and my daughter Brittany Taylor. It was a joy watching you grow up. I remember the day you came to practice and shared about finding out you had cancer. Brittany and I both went home and cried like babies. A wonderful young life taken way too soon. Only God knows why he chooses to take who he does and how he does. All I can think is that you were too precious of an angel for him to continue to go on without directly by his side. May you rest forever in peace and may your family live on with the beautiful memories of your time here with them and all of us.

Hailey will be in our memories as that little go getter. Her energy and bright smile (mischievous at times) always keeping Kathleen on her toes. Hailey and Callie had some really special times together as youngsters and Callie will always cherish that time with her. We laugh at the funny pictures of the two of them together especially in that little car Hailey would drive them around in. Our thoughts, prayers and love are with all of you. May God wrap you in his arms and comfort you.

We have been praying for Hailey during her battle with cancer. We will continue to keep you all in our prayers. I will always remember her as the sweet little preschooler she was when I first met her at Discovery Center and for the strong, beautiful, young lady she became. Love and Prayers

My dearest Kathleen, Monte & Jade: Words cannot begin to describe how terrible I feel about the loss of Hailey. I have never met a family more upbeat, positive and happy - even through the darkest moments of her illness. I didn't know of Hailey's passing until a week later or I would have attended her memorial service. Please know that I am here for your entire family and my heart aches for you all. Love, Sue

Aunt Hailey will be remembered always. I never forget her, and I never ever take off my Hailey bracelet. I remember having them made to fundraise for her. We made brownies too. I didn't know her long, but I loved her for as long as I did. My uncle keeps her urn in his room upstairs, and my grandma has all of their wedding memories. I was a bridesmaid at her wedding, and she couldn't have been more beautiful. I'm so happy my uncle married her; I'll never have a better aunt than Aunt Hailey.
