Mary Elizabeth Helfrich – a lifelong resident of Pendleton passed away on Monday, June 4, 2012, at St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton. She was 90 years old. Recitation of the Rosary for Mary Elizabeth Helfrich will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday evening, June 10, 2012, at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Pendleton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, June 11, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with interment to follow at Olney Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mary's Outreach, and may be sent care of Burns Mortuary of Pendleton, PO Box 489, Pendleton, OR 97801. A lifelong resident of Pendleton, she was born on February 24, 1922, to John and Mary Teresa Harkin Helfrich. Mrs. Helfrich was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She is survived by one son, Lawrence Michael Helfrich of Seattle, Washington.

Mary was one of our favorite customers, when the ice cream shop was open here, she came to enjoy her favorite flavor. We will miss her and know she is at peace now...she was a special lady! Cheryl, Barbara and families, Calico Country Florist

This was a sweet lady who came and seen my mother . And also went around the corner and mowed the lawn over 40 years ago. My mother was Mary E Blaine May your heavenly father keep and bless you . Fondly Thomas Blaine

My memories of your mom, Mary, are very dear...She was the only one that my mom would conduct business with at the bank. They would always catch up on family first. I think they knew each other from St. Joseph's Academy. My mom held Mary in the highest esteem and would always remark of her in the kindest way. My mom missed Mary when she retired and so did I. I was very lucky to have worked with Mary Elizabeth for many years. She was a truly wonderful person who touched so many. I am very lucky to have known Mary Elizabeth. Cherish your memories. She is at peace.
