Henrietta Beeler was united in marriage to John Thomas Johnson on March 14, 1946 in Harrison, Arkansas. They were married 51 years until Tommy's death in 1997. Tommy and Rita left Forsyth, Missouri in the early 1950's and moved to Riddle, Oregon which is where they made their home and raised their children. Rita was a dedicated wife and mother. She helped her husband, Tommy, in the logging business by keeping the books. For a short time, she owned and operated a small fast food restaurant in Riddle. She was known for her beautiful singing voice and could yodel with the best of them! Rita enjoyed writing poetry and songs and her favorite past time was baking pies and "picking and singing" with family and friends. She was a member of the Riddle First Baptist Church and was proud to let the world know she loved The Lord. Rita was loved very much by her family and will be greatly missed. Survivors include a daughter, Carole Lynn Hanson of Riddle, Oregon; a son, John Thomas Johnson, Jr. and his wife Polly of Pendleton, Oregon; two grandsons, Sean Ball and Chad Hanson of Riddle, Oregon and three granddaughters, Natalie Alanis of Pendleton Oregon, Liz Bronson of Pilot Rock, Oregon and Emily Hendrickson of Hermiston, Oregon; and twelve great grandchildren.

I worked at Willowbrook for 2years and Miss Rita was my favorite lady. We talked all the time about growing up in Missouri. Everytime I go to Branson and pass through Kissee Mills I think of her and the square dances she so loved growing up.. It was an absolute pleasure getting to know such a wonderful woman! I will never forget her or her songs.. RIP
