Henry F. Norton Henry F. Norton, a resident of Pendleton died Thursday, December 8, 2011, in Pendleton, Oregon. He was 93 years old. Henry F. Norton was born in Fort Morgan, Colorado, to Henry F. Norton and Helen Norton. He was born on November 22, 1918, and had 6 siblings. Henry was inducted in to the United States Marine Corps in 1944. He was part of the 3rd Marine Division into Iwo Jima, Japan, and Guam. He returned to the United States and was honorably discharged in 1945. After his service to his country, Henry moved to San Francisco, California, to pursue a career in carpentry. He married Laura Lee Koenig in 1941. In 1948 they moved to Portland, Oregon, where he continued his career in carpentry. They divorced in 1957. He married Virginia Donlon in 1958. After Henry retired from the City of Portland as a carpenter in 1980, Henry and Virginia moved to Asotin, Washington, to build their dream home on the Snake River. This is where they stayed until moving to Pendleton, Oregon, in 2005 to be cared for by their daughter Penny Wicklander and grandson Tony Wicklander. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Virginia, his parents, brothers and sisters, and step-daughter Judy Mooso. Henry is survived by sons: Richard Norton and wife Marita of Cusick, Washington, Donald Norton and wife Judy of Portland, Oregon, and Merritt Donlon and wife Debra of Asotin, Washington, and daughter Penny Wicklander and husband Francis of Pendleton, Oregon. Henry had fourteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Services will be held at a later date. Dad had a good life and enjoyed his friends and family right up to his last day. A quite man with a big heart. Love you dad.
