Francis F. "Fran" Reger - 61, a Helix resident, died on Friday, October 28, 2011, at his home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary was held on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at 8:00 P.M. at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Pendleton. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at 11:00 A.M., at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Mission, Oregon, followed by Vault Interment at Helix Cemetery, in Helix, Oregon. Contributions in memory of Fran Reger may be made to Providence St. Mary Regional Cancer Clinic, and may be sent care of Burns Mortuary of Pendleton, PO Box 489, Pendleton, OR 97801. Send condolences online at www.burnsmortuary.com Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is handling arrangements. Fran was born October 26, 1950, in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota, to Gordon and Marie Boesen Reger. His family moved to Oregon when he was about 1 year old. He attended Oregon schools, and graduated from Pilot Rock High School. He then attained a technical degree from Alexandria Tech, in Alexandria, MN. He enlisted in the US Army in 1970, and served his country while stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1972. Upon his return to Oregon, he began work as a General Motors Parts Manager, here in Pendleton, where he worked until 2010. On March 16, 1985, he married Connie Peters Reger. Fran had been a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Athena, Oregon. He had always enjoyed woodworking in his spare time. Fran is survived by his wife, Connie at the home in Helix, OR, his children: Heather Nelson of Pilot Rock, OR, Jamie Willman of Pendleton, OR, Tyson Reger of Latah, WA, and step-daughter Julie Smith of Portland, OR, his brothers Dr. Ken Reger of Bellevue, WA, Dennis Reger of Fall City, OR, Chuck Reger of Clatskanie, OR, Ron Reger and Jim Reger, both of Pendleton, OR, sisters: Geri Stevens of Bellingham, WA, Kath Reger of Athena, OR, and Jeane Cook of Pilot Rock, OR, and grandchildren: JT Nelson of Pilot Rock, Lexi Willman, Addison Willman and Jared Willman, of Pendleton, Cody and Mackenzie Dunn of Helix, Oregon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Renee Gilham Dunn.

I remember Fran and his family so well from PR - especially at St. Helen's Church. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family. Rest in peace, Fran.

I graduated with Fran at PRHS in 1968. I am very sorry to learn he passed away. Please give my condolences to the family.
