Juanita J. Clum - a resident of Pendleton, and former longtime resident of Elgin, died Sunday, August 14, 2011, in a local care facility. She was 88 years old. Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the Burns Mortuary Chapel in Pendleton. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Elgin Cemetery. She was one of seven children born to Thomas and Viola Reed Showers. She was raised in Denver, Colorado and moved to Elgin, Oregon, in 1946. She married R.G. Clum on August 30, 1947. She had worked as a bookkeeper for Terry Logging Company and for the Elgin TV Association before her retirement. She moved to Pendleton in 2008 to be closer to her family. She had been a member of the Pythian Sisters and of the VFW Auxiliary, holding both local and state-wide offices. She is survived by three daughters; Marie Trottier of Long Beach, CA, Carol Brown of Las Vegas, NV, and Risa Riggen of Pilot Rock, OR, two sons, Jim Clum of Pasco, WA, and Tom Clum of Rio Rancho, NM, two sisters, Eva Rosen and Arlene DeSantis, both of Denver, CO, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and brothers and sisters.

To the family of Juanita,Please know that our thoughts go out to you on the loss of your Mother. I am very thankful that I was able to take care of her for the time that I did. She will always be in my memory as we had some good times. I am very sorry I was unable to attend her memmorial but have been to Madras helping a sister that has cancer. Feel free to e-mail if possible and thank you for keeping me in mind. Love to all

Rest in peace Juanita. We the members of the Grand Temple of Oregon Pythian Sisters loved you. You served faithfully for many, many years as a member and Officer. We have fond memories of you and your family. You will truly be missed!

Its been many years, but still remember and all the love we shared as a family!! I grew up knowing and loving you're mother and she always was spiecal to me. Love the other Rise'
