Nina Vivian Fischer - a resident of Pendleton, died Sunday, June 5, 2011, at Elizabethan Manor. She was 86 years old. Disposition will be by cremation. Graveside Memorial Services will be conducted Monday, June 13, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. in the Olney Cemetery in Pendleton. You may send condolences online at www.burnsmortuary.com Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements. Nina was born March 26, 1924, in Plevna, Montana, to George and Pat Bickle. She was the youngest of six siblings, and attended school in Knowlton, Montana. She was a very exceptional and attentive waitress, and had worked in; Weiser, Idaho, Baker City, Tillamook and Pendleton, Oregon, as well as Richland, Washington. Nina moved to Yakima, Washington, where she worked as a grocery store meat wrapper until her retirement. She then met Albert E. Fischer, a roofing contractor. They were married in Pendleton, OR, on July 6, 1985, after which they moved to his home in Moses Lake, Washington. Her husband preceded her in death on November 20, 1991. Nina greatly enjoyed fishing, the Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Mariners, as well as sewing and crossword puzzles. Mrs. Fischer is survived by her children; Burl Becker and wife Glenna of Pendleton, OR, and Marvin Robinson and wife Sharon of Bedias, Texas; three grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Nina was fondly remembered by her grandchildren as "Special Treats Grandma" and by her daughters as "Foxy Mom" Nina will be greatly missed by family and many friends at Elizabethan Manor.
