Colleen Kay Roach - a resident of Pendleton, died Monday, May 30, 2011 in the St. Anthony Hospital. She was 67 years old. Memorial funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 3:00 P.M., in the Salvation Army Chapel in Pendleton. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Colleen Roach Memorial fund C/O the Wells Fargo Bank. Contributions will help with final expenses. Memorials may either be dropped off directly at the bank, or may be sent care of the Burns Mortuary of Pendleton, P.O. Box 489, Pendleton, Oregon. Send condolences online at www.burnsmortuary.com Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements. Ms. Roach was born October 31, 1943 in Portland, Oregon. She was the daughter of Jack and Shirley Long Nash. In 1952 she moved with her family to the Pendleton area. In 1954, her mother married Robert Zaklan. She was raised and educated in Pendleton, and graduated from Pendleton High School in 1961. After high school, she left the area and in 1984 she returned to Pendleton, where she worked for the Salvation Army Thrift Store for many years. She had also worked for DHS in Pendleton for a short time. She later moved to Washington, and while there she became disabled. She returned to Pendleton in 2000 where she has continued to live until the time of her death. She greatly enjoyed crocheting especially baby hats and scarves. She had also liked to read and watch TV. She volunteered her time at Elizabethan Manor where she lived as well as making hats for St. Anthony Hospital. She had also been a member of the Home League through the Salvation Army. Survivors include: children, Casey Ankney of Pendleton, and Edward R. Wahner of White Salmon, Washington, sisters; Jackie Mason of Portland, OR, Nikki Mikesell and Janet Divish both of Pendleton, OR, and Becky Griffin of Eugene, OR, two brothers; Gary Nash of Pendleton, OR, and Robert Zaklan of Payette, Idaho, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers.
