Farley Daniel Bowman – a resident of Pendleton died on February 24, 2011 at the Evergreen Health & Rehabilitation Center in Milton-Freewater, Oregon. He was 87 years old and lived out his life primarily in Pendleton. At his request no services will be held. Contributions in memory of Farley Bowman may be made to the Pioneer Humane Society in care of Burns Mortuary of Pendleton, PO Box 489, Pendleton, OR 97801. Send condolences at www.burnsmortuary.com Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Bowman was born on August 11, 1923 in Pendleton, Oregon. He was the son of Benjamin F. Bowman and Sybil D. Bowman, both of Pendleton. He was a graduate of Pendleton High School and Oregon State University. He served in the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserve during WWII. Soon after graduating from PHS, he married Judith O. Brawn. They were later divorced in 1975. During his life, Mr. Bowman was an athletic competitor including the triathlon into his 70's, a pilot and a hunter. He was devoted to animals, particularly his dogs. Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his ex-wife Judith Bowman, and son Anthony Bowman, both of Pendleton.

So sorry to hear of Farley's passing. He was a "good customer" of mine in the 80's and 90's, sort of lost touch the last 10 yrs. or so. At times he was very challenging, however his take on the past and current events, and his life, were worth every minute of listening to, even if we didn't always see eye to eye. I'll miss you, Farley.

Farley was a friend, a character, and a fine fellow to greet. One of the best people with whom to exchange upbeat conversation, in fact.
