Earl D. Risley - a resident of Pendleton died Tuesday, August 31, 2010 in a local care facility. He was 84 years old. Memorial funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 3, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Pendleton. In lieu of flowers memorials in his memory may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and may be sent care of the Burns Mortuary of Pendleton, P.O. Box 489, Pendleton, Oregon 97801. You may sign the guestbook or send condolences online at www.burnsmortuary.com Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Risley was born February 18 1926 in St. Maries, Idaho. He was the son of Elmer D. and Ida L. Meeks Risley. He was raised and educated in Naples, Idaho. After his schooling, he served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He married Barbara I. Grow in July 28, 1945 in Colville, Washington. Three children were born to that marriage, and she later died in 1987. He married Katherine E. Powers on January 27, 1990 in Lacy, Washington. Mr. Risley had driven log truck in Northern Idaho for many years. He came to Pendleton in 1970 where he drove chip truck for Harris Pine Mills until his retirement in 1987. He greatly enjoyed playing guitar & singing country music with his friends. He also enjoyed traveling and camping with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Katherine of Pendleton, OR, a son, Ross D. Risley of Irrigon, OR, two daughters, Dusty Flitz and Bonnie Risley both of Pendleton, OR, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Barbara, his brother Jim Risley and his sister Bernice Foltz.
