One of my best memories of Mrs. Lappen is when she helped in my first and second grade class. When I found out that Mrs. Lappen had cancer I was really upset, so one day my mom told me they had an auction at school to raise money for her cancer fund and I ended up winning the quilt that was raffled off. It was such a beautiful quilt and whenever I look at it, it always reminds me of her. Mrs. Lappen was such a kind lady and I will always keep her in my heart.

Linda's love for life will always rest in my mind whenever I meet a teaching assistant with the love of students, school and life like she had. She will be sorely missed by me and the education community. She was always open armed to all of us. Mel, I am so sorry.

I have so many wonderful memories of my aunt Linda. One I probably shouldn't share, but will, is the time I and my siblings went to visit her, Mel & Ty in Astoria Oregon. I was about 6 and was constipated the entire trip. Linda was so determined to change that she made me drink gallons of prune juice and walk miles around the trailer court. Rest in Pease ~ I love you and miss you Linda, Brent

Much like her Mom, Linda was a one of a kind treasure -- a brave person and such a great sense of humor. I will miss her and pray she is in a better place. TJ

For Linda, "The Family Quilter" We will have a hard time finding anybody else to quilt all our lives together like you did, Linda. You worked hard to keep us connected as a family and we love you for that.
