Jose G. Arroyo - a resident of Pendleton, Oregon died on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at a local care facility. He was 87 years old. Viewing will be held on Thursday, April 29th, between the hours of 1:00 and 5:00 PM at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 30, at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Pendleton, followed by interment at Olney Cemetery in Pendleton. He was the son of Lauro Arroyo and Concepcion Melendez Arroyo. He was raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco in Mexico. He was married to Zenaida Arroyo, the couple had two children. That marriage later ended. He moved to Pendleton in 1980, and had resided here since. In July of 1983 He married Donna Britain in Walla Walla, Washington. He had worked at Harris Pine Mills for 10 years until his retirement. Jose had been a member of the Pendleton Seventh-day Adventist Church. He enjoyed watching all kinds of sports in his spare time. Mr. Arroyo is survived by his wife Donna Arroyo of Pendleton, OR, sons; Javier Arroyo and Frank Arroyo both of Pendleton, OR, daughters Marina Hernandez of Pendleton, OR and Olga Arroyo of Mexico, sons; Rigoberto Arroyo, Obed Arroyo, Arturo Arroyo and Carlos Arroyo all of Mexico, brothers Nazario Arroyo and Roberto Arroyo, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Concepcion Arroyo and Ramona Arroyo, and brothers; Pablo Arroyo and Santiago Arroyo.
