Mary Louise Graves Cain -a resident of Pendleton, died on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at her home following years of illness. She was 62 years old. A memorial service and luncheon for Mary Lou Cain will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 26, 2010 at the Eagles Lodge of Pendleton. Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements. Mary was born on January 31, 1948 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She was adopted by Thomas M. and Dortha M. Graves. She was raised in Pendleton, OR, and attended Pendleton schools until the middle of her senior year in High School, when she left home and moved to Baytown, Texas. There she lived with her biological mother. Mary Lou graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, TX in 1966. She attended Business School afterwards in Houston, Texas. After Business School she moved back to Oregon and married James Lee Widner. The couple had a son Thomas Chadwick. Mary Lou attended the Pendleton Beauty College and was married to George J. Williamson. They had two sons; Shawn and Travis. She was later married briefly to Hoy D. Bryant and later in life James S. Cain, who preceded her in death. Mary Lou and Hoy lived in Missouri for seven years, until his passing, when Mary Lou moved back to Pendleton. Mary Lou had worked in mental health facilities in drug and alcohol rehabilitation, she had also worked as a cook and bartender. Mary Lou had many hobbies. She liked to cook, bake, garden, crochet and make miniature Christmas trees. She is survived by her three sons, seven grandchildren, as well as many friends.
