Gwendolyn Johnson Klatush December 14, 1952-Nov. 29, 2009 Pendleton – Gwendolyn "Gwen" Johnson Klatush, 56, of Mission died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009. A dressing ceremony will be held at 5:00 PM, December 1st, 2009at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Pendleton followed by a Recitation of the Holy Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 AM, on Wednesday, December 2nd at St. Andrew's Mission, with burial services to follow at St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery. Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Klatush was born December 14, 1952, in Pendleton to Amy Minthorn Johnson and Joseph T. Johnson. She graduated from Chemawa Indian School in 1973 and went on to attend North West Pacific Business College in Portland, Oregon. She married Herbert Klatush in 1973 and they have two sons Herbert Jr. and Gordon Klatush. Mrs. Klatush was an avid fan of riding motorbikes with her husband Herbie and also enjoyed beading in her spare time. She was an enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. She worked for the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation in Human Resource Office. Survivors include her husband Herbert Klatush, sons, Herbert Jr., and Gordon Klatush; sister Janet Johnson, brothers, Reginald Johnson and Stanley Johnson and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Amy Minthorn Johnson and Joseph Johnson, brothers Mark Johnson, Joseph C. Johnson.

Gwendolyn used to come in Mission Market years ago when I worked there. She was always pleasant to me. Sorry for your loss

During the years that I worked at Yellowhawk Clinic, I came to enjoy Gwen's quiet humor. She always recognized me and made the effort to converse. It was a pleasure to have known her.
