Wesley Walter Wallis April 21, 1929 – November 14, 2009 Wesley Wallis died Saturday, November 14, 2009 at his home in Pilot Rock, Oregon. He was 80 years old. Graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, November, 20, 2009 at Pilot Rock Cemetery, Pilot Rock, Oregon. Following the Graveside Service friends and family are invited for a pot luck dinner at the Pilot Rock Community Center. Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Anthony Hospice, or the Pilot Rock Presbyterian Church, and may be sent in care of Burns Mortuary of Pendleton, PO Box 489, Pendleton, OR 9780. Wes was born in Milburn, Nebraska to Howard and Ester Wallis on April 21, 1929. He moved to Oregon in 1937 and attended school in Vale and Union High School and Eastern Oregon College in LaGrande, Oregon. He was married to Margaret "Peggy" Comrie and they had four sons, they eventually divorced. On January 21, 1972 he married Marjorie Hughes. They celebrated 35 wonderful years together as best friends. Wes was a man of many talents; he worked various jobs such as driving a bread truck in LaGrande, Oregon farming and selling farm equipment in Tulelake, California, working the car dealership in Pendleton, Oregon and eventually working for Bi-Mart in Pendleton and Ontario, Oregon. He retired to Pilot Rock, Oregon. He enjoyed the outdoors with hunting, fishing, and working around the house on his garden and yard and the occasional rodeo and gambling excursion. Wes is survived by sons David of Redding, CA, Steven and wife Georgia of Prineville, OR, Mike and wife Lori of Pendleton, OR and James and wife Paula of Pendleton, OR, stepson Jim Hughes of Lake Oswego, OR, 15 grand-children, 4 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, sister Gladys and husband Joe of Oceanside, CA, brothers Ken and wife Ann of McKinleyville, CA, Vern and wife Sue of Cedar Park, TX, Howard and wife Eilleen of Hermiston, OR, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie, parents Howard and Ester, sisters Edna and Dorothy, and brother Stan.

I will never hear another riding lawn mower without thinking of Wes. He will truly be missed. Joan
