W. Jean Thomson, 93, of Pendleton passed away on January 24, 2018 at a local care facility. She was born on December 16, 1924 in Washington, Indiana to Rollie and Eula Belle (Parsons) Moren. 

She graduated from Washington High in 1942 and attended Business College in Evansville, Indiana.  Her career with the Oregon State Employment Division began in 1953 in Pendleton, and took her to Salem, Oregon where she retired in 1983. During her retirement she kept busy; serving as the Administrative Assistant with Oregon Games Disability Sports until 1997 when she returned to Pendleton.

She was part of the Emblem Club (served as State President and Supreme President), member of the Peace Lutheran Church, and sang in the church choir. Jean enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, camping, fishing, playing the piano, singing, bingo and loved the Round-up and Happy Canyon. 

Jean is survived by her children; Richard (Donna) Vogel of Pendleton and Cheryl (Randy) Gore of Wilsonville, Oregon, sister; Margie Butler of Evansville, Indiana, 3 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 4 nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial will be held at Skyview Memorial Park on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 1:30 PM. All friends and family are invited to attend the graveside.

Contributions in Jean Thomson’s memory may be made to Pendleton Hospice in care of Burns Mortuary of Pendleton.
