Viola Mae Bullock, a resident of Pendleton, died Monday, December 10, 2012, at her home in Pendleton.  She was 101 years old.

Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, December 14, 2012, at 10:00 A.M. at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Pendleton, Oregon. Burial will follow in the Olney Cemetery, Pendleton, Oregon.  A dinner will be held following the burial at Bethel Assembly of God Church, 1109 Airport Road in Pendleton.  A viewing will be held Thursday, December 13, 2012, between the hours of 1:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M. and will be in the Burns Mortuary of Pendleton.  Contributions in memory of Viola Bullock may be made to the American Cancer Society, and may be sent in care of Burns Mortuary of Pendleton, P.O. Mrs. Bullock was born July 13, 1911, in Plain Dealing, Louisiana.  She was the daughter of James D. and Edith A. (Newsome) Blanton.  She was raised and educated in the Plain Dealing area.  She married Jesse W. Bullock on August 14, 1929, in Plain Dealing, LA.  The family had lived and worked in Arizona, Arkansas and other areas before they came to Pendleton in 1956.  While here Mrs. Bullock had worked at the Domestic Laundry and then later as a Nurses Aide at St. Anthony Hospital here in Pendleton.  She continued working at the hospital for many years before she retired. 

She had been a member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church.  She greatly enjoyed spending time doing yard work and collection angels.  Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family including her many children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. 

She is survived by four children: James “Leon” Bullock & friend Carlene of Walla Walla, WA, Leonard Bullock & wife Dorothy of Pendleton, OR, LaVerne Crume of Hermiston, OR, and John Bullock & wife Linda of Pendleton.  23 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren also survive.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jesse, two sons, Mac and Floyd Bullock, 6 brothers and one sister.
