George Lowell Seiter, 79, of Rockford, died at 9:45 a.m. Friday, February 12, 2010. Born February 13, 1930, in Rockford, the son of William T. and Bernice (Johnson) Seiter. Married Helen Louise Seiter on April 24, 1952. Graduated from West High School in 1948. Attended Rockford Business College and Rockford College. Served in the United States Army, Military Police. He was involved with Industrial Sales and was Co-Owner of Air, Electric, Power Equipment Co. Most recently employed by CarQuest of Rockford. Member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Survivors include: son, Timothy (Nancy) Seiter of Rockford; daughters, Rebecca (Timothy) Shaffer of Rockford and Gretchen Anderson of Minneapolis, Mn; grandchildren, Adrienne Seiter of Salt Lake City, Ut, Paul Shaffer and Abigail Seiter of Rockford; brothers, William (Betty) Seiter and Richard (Lois) Seiter, sisters, Delores (Lynn) Davis and Dorothy (Frank) Forman; brothers-in-law, Paul Frawert and Bill (Ruth Turner) Retzlaff; Aunt, Dorothy Nelson all of Rockford. Numerous cousins, nieces, & nephews, all of whom put a smile on his face. Predeceased by parents, wife, Helen of 46 years, and sister, Kay Frawert. George’s family would like to acknowledge and thank SwedishAmerican Hospital, and the extraordinary staff of 7th floor, especially Theresa, Brenda, Sandy, Sarah & Dr. Suhail for the compassionate care they offered not only to George, but his family as well. Also a deep gratitude for the Pastoral and Stephen Ministry support of Our Savior’s Lutheran. Services at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 18, 2010 in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 3300 Rural Street with the Rev. Lee Laaveg officiating. Visitation Wednesday, February 17, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, Rockford Chapel, 4311 North Mulford Road. Also 9:30–10:00 a.m. at the church Thursday.
